Camden with no beer=no Red Cassette

Hello chaps and chappess's. First of all a big sorry to anyone who may have gone to Camden on saturday in hope of seeing me play, The Cearnarvon Castle was taken over by new management last week, due to unforseen circumstances they had not had a delivery of the gig goers favourite liquid, Beer. So, the fact that my mum, dad, sister, buddies (including sam,al,sean, rose, etc), housemates (matt, ben, alex, marie) and my girlfriend Donna had all made the effort to come and see me i decided not to let them down and play the gig in true junkie style, in my living room! it went down a storm all in all really, we had music, food, good conversation and all the rest of the things that come along with nice people and friendly situations. I kinda wish all my gigs where like that. Heres a picture chosen at random:

I played five or six songs, with accompanyment from my mum (bless her she was a little drunk!, shes proud of her baby boy!) that people seemed to enjoy, which made me enjoy it all the more, it was a nice personal evening and i am glad that i got to play to my friends and family like this before i start playing wembley stadium (ha ha i will never play that place cos 1: i will never be that successful and 2: i would never do it cos one man and a guitar would sound shit in there! ha ha) Heres another pic:

And finally we decided to end the evening with drunken/sentimental chats about people and places, then a little bit of fire poi from ben, and then we started to watch poltergeist but it was impossible cos i had two drunken girls in my bedroom (who chat chat chat chat chat) along with three other drunken men (who wanted to listen listen listen to the film (cos its funny)). So heres a few shots of the 'after show party':

By the way, the gig has been rescheduled to Friday the 21st of April same venue, but i will be on at 19:50. So if you want to, come and see me i will appreciate it! Love to you all and thanks to those of you who came this weekend it was really good fun. x

Hello my pretties. Sorry its been so long, but i am super duper busy at 'school' at the mo. My final project is looming, and i have had something like four deadlines in one week. The last of which will be this Thursday. Other than that i had an ok christmas, the usual really.Got some wicked ass presents! A signed Life In The Undegrowth book (David Attenborough) money to buy music stuff, so i bought myself an edirol audio interface and nice mic. I played a gig over christmas too. It was with the Sargasso Trio who are gggggggreat! and King Rat (which is cord basically) who are gggggreat too. It went brilliantly i had a very cool time! And enjoyed myself no end. It was the first gig ever that i had free beer on what they call a 'rider'? wow rock and roll! and i got paid, awesome here is a photo:(with the Wagon Band)

A Long Time Coming

I am soooooo sorry its been so long since my last blog entry. I feel bad leaving you out of my life for nearly a month! To be honest not that much has been happening. Red Cassette is in the process of building a website with the help of Pye and Leeds. Which is awesome, of them and me!.

Also i am working on lots of new songs, but i am holding them close for a little while to see what happens with the Monkey Love thing, cos hopefully we should be releasing something next year, with exclusive tracks, soooo. But if i see any of you in the near future of course you can hear them. If you are interested at all. I also done a gig last wednesday at my uni, it went awefully well, which is pleasing to me and hopefully you too. I did fuck the first song in the ear slightly but, apparently i made up for it with a stellar performance of 'Raise a Glass For Your.....' (slow version). So i was told. I have now had 7 sales on Fake Science, and i will be featured on a new podcast soon called "Voice Of Free Planet X', which is a podcast that this guy called Jared Axelrod does, where he recites his short stories, with complimentary music. It's nice and you should check it! He is gonna play 'Raise a Glass, For Your Favourite Guise', so there you go. Be home for christmas soon. Which i am looking SO forward to. Just wanna be at home now, had enopugh of uni work! but stressful the thirdand final year! But hey, buy the ticket, take the ride! as we all now so familiar.

Playing at Norwich ARTS CENTRE on the 6th January, so if anyone is about please come! it will be wicked. I am playing with Sargasso Trio who are much better than me, and also King Rat (featuring members of cord) who are also better than me. I am having my backing band play with me too The Wagon Band, featuring Dave Pye on, Glock, random Keyboards, etc and James Leeds on Keyboards, Glock, Guitar, etc, and Gav Harmer (my half cousin) on Drums, Guiro, etc who are all better than me too, so all in all, it should be agreat night of stuff thats better than me, so after i am done, it can only get better! ha ha.

No photo's taken this time, but i will get on that soon. Oh, my wisdom teeth are coming through, and i just want to say, if yours havn't come through, i hope you never have to feel pain in your mouth like the pain my mouth is giving me at the moment. Imagine a small building contractor company digging into your teeth, and on finding the nerve, persistantly TWIST, GRAB, FUCK, BITE, KICK, SLAG, FIGHT, EAT, SHAVE, SCRAPE, STAB, GRIND, ERODE, MANGLE, BURN and basically SHIT on you for a week and a half. With only an odd hour of relief here and there. Also i am feeling it RIGHT FUCKING NOW!!!!!!!! the fucking shit bastard git turd fuuuuuispdfjpi'`sdf \opij rg'iig rw 'wr g h' rwgj »Ø sometimes it makes me cry.

Red Cassette gets domain in internet site shocker

Thought i would title this one as a headline (i like it, obviously if it was on the sun it would say something like 'Sod Gets Site, Bollocks'). Anyway, this is just to,let you know that i now have an internet site! finally! i have been very lazy!, but with the help of Dr.Pye (macologist) and Dr.Leeds (siteologist and codist) its all up and moving. Its looking boring as fuck at the moment, but as we all know, if you let things grow they get..........bigger, and better hopefully. This is what it will hopefully look something like:

i have put this up in good faith that no-one will nick it!. I trust my friends so.......... One of the great things is that its at www.redcassette.com! how east is that to remember?! nice. I have a few plans for it, such as rss feeds and the like, as well as some very Red Cassette style ideas like an online busk, where you will be able to drop some change into my paypal account if you wish! i like it so its gonna happen right! Well speak to you all soon, i will keep you updated on progress, but for now go and check it out!

Dave, Me, London and a Coke (plus noodles and coffee)

Well. Here we are again. Gonna try to make this entry a little longer and less speedy. Dave came to visit this week. He went home this morning. He arrived yesterday around 12:30, when we did the usual of showing each other some new music we had heard grabbed some lunch (at which point, Dave scummed on my floor, leaving me to clear it up!) then we went to the train station to grab the train into central London, in the hope of accomplishing some Christmas shopping. We caught the train after a slightly manic session trying to find a parking space at the station.

As usual we didn't really know where to start so we headed to oxford street, cos i really fancied some noodles! So we had noodles (i had sweet and spicy chicken too! delish!). After this point we decided to go and look around denmark street at some vintage guitars, basses and drumkits, as well as some new ones (most of which were far too shiny and hurt our eyes in a pain way). Then we wondered a bit to covent garden for a coffee, but i had trouble finding the place i was looking for, but found it in the end. Had a lovely coffee, at which point we decided to go looking for portabello road. (not thinking that it wasn't open on tuesdays!!!!). We went we saw we conquered, nothing. We went into a vintage clothes shop, where dave took a photo of me looking at girls shoes (using my new super tech phone, if batman had a mobile, he would have this one!, i would tell you what one it is but thats kind of like advertising and thats just pure evil). Then we left. Where i took this photo of Dave (using the light which accompanies the camera on my new super tech camera phone) Lovelly.

Then Dave decided he wanted to go to Greenwich. Iwas up for it so we did. Took a while cos we had to get the docklands Light Rail to Sarky Duff Todger. We missed our stop whilst moaning about all the Mr nine to fives and there corporate face massages, and there brief cases full of broken dreams and other peoples overdraft charges. So we got off at the next stop and walked. We got there but all the shops were closed. We did pop into Music Exchange where i spotted a Philip Glass vinyl that looked cool as fuck, had Laurie Anderson doing some guest vocals, with Eno doin something as well, probably inventing ambient music. But didn't buy it cos i am skint. Previous to spotting this little gem we got a coke, which was awesomely refreshing!!! awesome to the max!!!. We also saw a copy of Fives Leaves Left by Nick Drake, in mint con on the Pink Island Label. A snip at £420.00. mmmmm. So essentially we went all the way accross London to get a coke. It was a fun day though and look forward to doing it again soon. Hope all you tits are cool. Love to you all. Stay british! ha ha

Hello. Sorry i have been so slack of late, i am very stressed about uni work at the mo, i have loads to do. So, this is just a very, very short one. Went home at weekend, saw Harry Potter, ok not as good as Azkaban, still good fun tho. Got new phone, free upgrade, snazzy can do stuff i hardly undrstand, but i can use mp3s as ringtones so i am happy, i currently have Batman the animated series theme tune.Nice.

Also pleas go to the Fake Science Music Store and buy my ep. I know this sounds money hungry and shit but i have only sold 2! and its only $2! that about £1.60! for five tracks! thats a bargain. So anyone who has a spare £1.60 please spend it on some of my hard work. I will love you forever. Promise. And i will know if any of you have bought it too, cos it tells me where the purchase was made i.e Canada, Japan, Dubai you know who you are! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!

The Constantines and the World's End

HEY! Hello. Yesterday was absolutely awesome. I will start from the beginning which is normally the best place to start.

Sunday a.m well almost, wake up slightly hungover from the night before, a 3:30 in the morning romp through primus' back catalogue with friends. I get myself some lunch (enchiladas) which was awefully tasty to say the least. Then my friend Finn turned up and Matt (who lives in the same house as me!) was already here. After about an hour of eating and chatting about how good the day was going to be we set off for the bus stop to catch the 15:55 bus to baker street. On our way to the bus stop we saw our friend Nik (having just left work) walking up the road to meet us. Then, behind him we saw the bus coming, we knew he would be able to make it to the bus stop easily, at a leisurely pace, before the bus, but boys being boys we summoned him with our hands to run, run like the wind! run as if the wind is a big awesome beast with foul breadth and the kind of face only a mother could love, for he was beaten by his cruel mother as a wind child and therefore has some demons to share (using violence) with your face. Having done this Nik sprinted, just like i described, and made it to the bus stop with about two mins to spare (ha ha us crazy guys!).

On the bus, all we talked about was the upcoming gig and how cool it was going to be. We got to Baker street within about 40 mins, which was pretty good time. We got the Met line to Kings' Cross and then the northern line up to Camden Town. With relative ease, until we tried to get out of the station, where our tickets didn't work in the machine, the 'ticket female' said that our tickets should have been £4.60 and not £4.00. Unfortunately i had previously advised everyone to get a return to zone one, thinking this was the cheapest option, not thinking that Camden was in zone 2. Tits. The guys looked at me as if i had just severely tortured all the pets they had ever had in their whole lives, in the most horrific and inhumane way.So me being me I turned to the lady and said "sorry" with my honestest eyes. (honestest) After a few looks of 'you should know better' and a little noise she let us through, but warned us that the 'night ticket male' may charge us later. Ignoring the thought of this nightmare that would face us later we went about our business. We went straight to the Worlds' End and got a beer. It's your standard usual 'alternative' pub. But, friendly, Carlesberg Export on tap Johnny Cash and Creedance Clearwater Revival in the juke box. We settled in. After a bit our Friend Marv arrived bringing with him the reference number for his and Nik's tickets (phew, Marv has been known for his forgetfulness, bless him). We were safe. After a good few beers we headed down Camden highstreet towards The Barfly. It was your usual walk through camden in the dark on a weekend, shouts and whispers of "skunk weed" or "weed bruv" and "get high?" or "wanna get off your kitchen pouch with some goat avenue wizard?", after this we arrived at the venue still on our kitchen pouches and no goat avenue wizard, but it was close!. Inside we realised how small the place was, as any gig goer will tell you this always adds to the pure excitmant of the gig! i love it!

The first band on were Lo Ego, a lot of ooooohs and aaaaaahs and not a lot of content. Nothing to write home about!(ha ha, geddit?). The band after these were called Kyote, a pretty damn cool band, in short they were kind of old school punk, but with ballads and a trumpet. Singer had a great beard too. Lovely stuff. Then The Ettes who were to be fair, a tribute act, only they don't cover their favourite bands songs they just rip them off. Awful. After this band our friend Ben and his girlfriend Jess arrived, somewhat late but nonetheless here to see a truly great band.

Then the gem. The constantines took to the stage to great applaude, the crowd were here for them and nobody else. It was as if all the crowds hands were lips, and they were passionately kissing the songs that were coming at them from the stage. Beautiful. Playing songs like "Shine a Light" and "On To You" you could tell there was something 'else' about this band. Playing songs from the first album too like "Young Offenders" was great! and lots from 'Tournament Of Hearts' including "Working Full-Time" and the opening song from the new album and tonights set "Draw Us Lines". Incredible. Honest. A Joy.

At the tube station on the way home, the 'night ticket male' looked ready to pounce, i quickly turned to the guys and said "act like tourists' act like tourists" when approached by the man he told us the same babble as the female of earlier. I turned to him and said " the ................lady.............earlier.............said it would be ok?" he needed no more persuasion. (what happened?) he let us through and we got to kings cross where it was plane sailing (well kind of, but that a whole other story)
